We are seeking a Backend Developer in Bratislava to join our diverse IT team. You will work closely with our colleagues in Risk Management. In our daily work we understand problems of our customers and help them build innovative solutions, that can be applied in their everyday work.

Our team is a diverse team based in Slovakia. We closely collaborate with colleagues in from many different locations. In our unit we have a broad variety of different technical and risk management related backgrounds. About the role

• Design, develop and maintain Risk Management applications
• Work on several of the key technology initiatives using cutting-edge cloud, data and integration technologies
• Communication with clients and communication of technical content to a business audience
• Work with multi-functional teams in an agile setup
• Serve as professional mentor for junior developers

About you

Nobody is perfect and meets 100% of requirements. If you, however, meet some of the criteria below and are genuinely curious about the world of software development, we will be happy to meet you.

Essentials:

• 5 years of experience in designing and developing custom applications
• Ability of building applications in a multi-tier architecture, including database, UI components of the application.
• Deep knowledge about programming in Java and Spring with respect to good design, optimizations and long-term maintainability.
• Hands on experience with Spring framework
• Working experience with frontend development
• Familiar with Agile development methodologies (e.g. Scrum, Kanban)
• You are passionate about new trends, flexible and open for new tasks with a mentality for continuous learning and development
• You are comfortable communicating in English in person, over remote connections and in writing.

Nice to haves:

• Experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular, React,
• Experience with development and operations of applications in cloud environments, preferably Microsoft Azure
• Good knowledge in micro-services architecture pattern and understanding of containerization concepts (e.g. Docker)
• Experience with CI/CD concepts and tools like Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Bamboo, etc.
• Experience with relational databases

The minimum gross monthly base salary for this role is 3 100 EUR full time. Our final offer to you will be set up fairly, considering the skills and experience that you bring to the Swiss Re Group. You can look forward to extra rewards and benefits including an attractive performance-based bonus.
